What Do you Want to Learn from the Next RCA Course?

It’s the time again for us to ask YOUR opinion on what you want to learn from the next RCA course! We’ve been giving you the courses you asked for – “Crushing the King” about attacking in chess, “From opening to middlegame”, “Practical Endgames” for mastering practical endgames; and also the courses about two of the world’s best chess players, Magnus Carlsen and Bobby Fischer, and how to play like them. 🙂

Nevertheless, our students (you) still ask for courses on other topics from time to time. In an effort to streamline this entire process, we’ve decided to conduct a survey; because, in RCA we strive hard to better understand YOUR needs and requirements in order to provide you with the best chess lessons/courses.

Please, take the survey and feel free to share your thoughts with us. We’ll do our best to fulfil everyone’s needs. The survey has only 3 questions and you can finish them in about a couple of minutes.

To thank you for your participation, we’ll provide you with something really special: If you take this survey, you will be able to get BETTER special offers on the course (that we’ll create based on your wishes) than those who don’t take this survey! 🙂

designFinally, I’d like to cheer you up before finishing this article. There is a very interesting position below:

Black is a pawn down and some would say that it’s hard to recover from this position. However, Black won the game. You might think that it is because White is a lower-rated player than Black or he might have blundered. But that’s not true, either. The World Champion Magnus Carlsen is playing White!

So, how would you play here as Black? A small hint: we have just discussed about this game a few days ago. Do you remember? 🙂 After calculating all possible variations, you can check the whole game in our previous article here.

Hello Igor,i am reading your course “Crushing The King” where I come across “bishop with no counterpart”what does it mean ?

    • RCA_moderator

      Hi Anup,

Let me help you with this question.
“Bishop with no counterpart” means that if you have a Bishop on White square and your opponent does not have a White Bishop then it means your White bishop does not have a counterpart.

It is important since in the above instance it will be difficult for Black to control the White squares in the Chessboard without a White bishop.

It would nice to see an in depth course on how to play those “critical-unclear positions”. Those positions where you are required to stop and think for 20-25 minutes to make a plan. Most chess sources tell us what to do vaguely but it would be great to find a source that lays out a blueprint on dealing with these critical-quiet positions.

      Hi Mike,
      Thanks for your suggestion.
It is an interesting topic and I don’t think it is covered very well in chess books and tutorials.
We will make a note of your suggestion
